Lyrical Art Auction

Musicians Against Mines are getting behind our cause with our Lyrical Art Auction. Original handwritten lyrics by great New Zealand songwriters are being auctioned in support of our campaign to stop gold mining on conservation land. New songs are being added daily on Trade Me from Saturday May 18 2024.

We need your help.

In 2017 the Government promised no more mines in conservation land.

It’s now 2024, and Oceana Gold want to tear up more of the pristine Coromandel to rip out gold from underground and ship it offshore.

This is a very special part of our motu. Mining it could poison the water, it could kill off a taonga species, and it will transform a rainforest into an industrial wasteland. Holidaymakers, and local people do not want heavy industry on their doorstep. The only people who want this mine are the shareholders of Oceana Gold. Read more about The Situation

Join comedian Melanie Bracewell, artist Layla Walter, musician DJ Sir-vere, and many others in reminding the government how passionate we are about conservation land.

Support our cause.

Stanley Palmer has gifted the use of two of his beautiful images in support of Ours Not Mines for a mine-free Coromandel Peninsula. The paintings are both from Waiaro, off Port Jackson Road near the very tip of the Coromandel Peninsula. These paintings have been reproduced as a limited run of 200 high quality digital prints each. All prints have been hand-signed by Stanley.
